Jane austen ball 2013
I fancy I could just as well dance for a week together as for half an hour – Jane Austen
Jane Austen Regency Ball
On 29 June 2013 the Auckland Early Dance group hosted a Regency Ball to commemorate the 200th anniversary since the publication of Jane Austen’s novel Pride and Prejudice in 1813. It was a delightful evening with excellent live music played by The ‘Rose and Thistle’ Country Dance Band, a sumptuous supper provided by group members and superb dancing by ball attendees which included visitors from Hamilton and Christchurch. Below is the poster and programme plus photos and a video with some of the dances.
The group would like to express its thanks to those who provided the photographs and video and to all the participants who combined to make the evening so successful and enjoyable.
